Murano glass beads
These colorful, sometimes bulbous, sometimes flat, beads are vibrant and full of life. Traditionally worn by Fulani women of West Africa during their wedding ceremonies, these women can still be seen walking down the road or selling their wares in market wearing bright beads. These beads originate from Murano, Italy and came down to West Africa during the 19th century by means of trade. Our necklaces combine antique and new beads which give these necklaces both value and shine.
Each of these necklaces is handmade with recycled goat leather and a variety of glass beads. The necklace you order will not look identical to the necklace displayed below since the beads will have a different composition. Our Takayallah necklaces invite you to be yourself and explore life to its fullest. Wear this necklace and be free to go and wander.
